Monitor Shared Hosting Cron Jobs and Applications

Use an outbound-first monitoring pattern for shared hosting environments with limited scheduler, daemon and inbound-network control.

Solution pattern; provider constraints vary

Shared hosting has a different operating boundary

Shared hosting may limit daemon processes, scheduler access, long-running workers, inbound routing or filesystem control. The exact limits vary by provider and plan, so no universal hosting claim is safe.

What an outbound model can solve

A scheduled script or application can send an authenticated heartbeat after a meaningful checkpoint. If the application also needs to receive a small signal, it can poll rather than accept inbound traffic.

What it cannot solve

An outbound signal does not create a scheduler, extend a provider timeout, validate business output or bypass a provider's network policy. Keep the local job log and host control panel as evidence.

Useful product concepts

Heartbeat Monitor fits outbound check-ins. Dead Man Monitor is the missing expected check-in concept. Polling Relay describes controlled retrieval without an inbound endpoint. Each remains subject to the host's actual PHP, TLS, scheduler and network capabilities.
